Given her history, I predict Eve Ensler will make Patricia Dye the heroine of her next play.

An Ohio woman who posed as a teenage boy and convinced a 16-year-old girl to run away with her was sentenced Wednesday to six months in jail.

Because Patricia Dye, 31, of Franklin, has already spent more than three months behind bars since her arrest in late June, she will be released Dec. 27, The Dayton Daily News reported.

Dye pleaded guilty to contributing to the delinquency of a child, sexual imposition and attempted sexual imposition, admitting she claimed to be a boy, Matt Abrams, in online encounters with the girl and in meetings at churches and libraries. Prosecutors say she did the same thing with other girls although no other charges have been filed.

She should be happy she’s not a man, otherwise she’d be looking at 25 years, plus a lifetime on the sex offender’s list. Why did the law go so easy on her?
