This song doesn’t sound right without being preceded by Today. But it’s still pretty fecking epic. Also, I Love You But I Have Chosen Darkness is one of my all-time favorite band names.
This is one of my favorite Weezer/Rivers Cuomo songs. It’s so simple, but it’s neat to hear a song where the primary instrument isn’t a guitar.

As an added bonus, here is a five minute clip of the “holocaust” section. This is a noise piece the band plays for upwards of 40 minutes during live versions of Realise (ugh, I can’t get used to the gimpy UK spelling of that word). Sadly I’ve never witnessed this myself, but I’m sure it’s fucking awesome.

Yup, another Smashing Pumpkins epic. I originally wanted to post Porcelina of Vast Oceans, but the person who made a video for it disabled embedding (grumble) and even worse, other videos had edited versions of the song. What the duck?
But no worries. This is a highlight of Siamese Dream if not THE highlight. In retrospect I wonder why people bothered calling them alternative rock. This is prog rock in the very best sense.
This video is a perfect match for the song. Kind of like the original official version (NOT the one on YouTube). The best description of this song was by (so god help me) Pitchfork, when they said this song is “an Epcot ride through the history of girl group pop.”
