This video makes me want to visit the upper peninsula. Michigan is a beautiful state, but I’ve never been further north than Detroit, which is to say, not far at all. This song sounds like loneliness to me.

It’s really amazing how many penis metaphors Andy Partridge can write into one song. Also, any song that talks about “green skinned girls” is ace in my mind.

Continuing the theme of yesterday’s song, Ash with Kung-Fu. These Irish lads should watch out before playing this song live in England. Is it more offensive for White kids to sing about Kung Fu movies than a Black guy? One wonders…

Last month some asshole cops in England arrested a man for singing this song within earshot of a Chinese couple. In the spirit, here is Carl Douglas Kung-Fu Fighting! Honestly, I can’t imagine any Chinese people taking offense to this song. Or anybody for that matter.
